Successfully reaching Osiris's throne room in Aaru (the Egyptian paradise) meant joining the god in eternal life.

This realm was imagined as perfect Egypt, with abundant food, endless happiness, and fertile fields where the blessed dead could roam freely.

The sun god Ra would travel through Duat each night in his solar boat, battling the chaos serpent Apophis, symbolizing the eternal cycle of death and rebirth.

This journey mirrored the deceased's own path to eternal life.
